The role will oversee the delivery of the digital transformation across products and services and be accountable for the successful delivery of the programme and the realization of the expected benefits (including after the closing of each project)
The Global Head of Digital Transformation will be a direct report of the Group Strategy and Product Expansion Division Head, who is a member of the Group Executive Committee. He/she will have a small team reporting to him/her, focusing mainly at the start on the product management aspects of the role. Nevertheless, the other teams in Commercial and IT will also have a “dotted” reporting line to him/her.
The person should have experience in digital transformations in a B-to-B context. Such transformation experience should ideally be in the financial/securities world. Having an understanding of the business of Euroclear and of CSDs in general would definitely be an asset.
Even though the role is a business one and not an IT one, the required capabilities include:
As his/her role can be seen as “the Euroclear face of the transformation”, the person, as the key driving force behind the program, should have strong leadership skills and should enjoy making things move in the short run. He/she will need to lead and to give direction. Inspiring employees and serving as role models for the sort of behavior necessary to effect change are also key qualities expected.
Moreover, because the transformation will be very transversal, he/she should have some experience in managing teams without necessarily having a hierarchical responsibility. Hence he/she will need to show that he/she can act and get results in a matrix environment. He/she will need to feel comfortable to lead and drive steering committees with energy and drive.
Finally, as he/she will need to liaise internally with a large number of internal stakeholders, he/she will need to get access to them thanks to his/her credibility and remain impartial and open-minded whilst moderating with them.
Euroclear having its largest personnel base in Brussels, the role would ideally be located in Brussels. Nevertheless, Paris or London are also possible but would require very regular travelling to Brussels, probably around 3 days per week.
