SLS division provides Subsea and Land High Voltage solutions to customers worldwide. It operates in a market where competition has increased and is expected to further increase significantly in the coming years. Our success in securing new contracts will depend on our ability to provide offers that are favourable for the customers and at the same time maximize the profit for the SLS Business Line.

The Tender Manager, through close coordination of a multi-functional team, submit bids on time to customers, with a price and technical specifications which reconcile Nexans’ and the customer’s expectations. The role is dedicated to Land activity only. He ensures that all costs & risks are properly considered in the offer presented. He liaises with the Sales manager and Head of Tendering regarding the best solution & pricing strategy to apply. He takes part to the tender negotiations with the Sales manager.

Key Role Accountabilities

  • Answer to pre-qualification file request for Land activity;
  • Read and understand customer RFQ’s and specifications;
  • Coordinate with Sales team, engineering department and central functions (legal, finance…);
  • Challenges the input from the contributors to the tenders, to propose the most competitive solution;
  • Responsible for costing the offer or frame contract and build Profit & loss scenarios (best case/worst case);
  • Write and prepare the offers in compliance with client formal requirements and according to Nexans procedures and expected quality;
  • Takes part to the negotiations with the customer;
  • Lead a complete handover and explain project details to Project Manager through contract review.

Your Education

  • Minimum a B.S. degree;
  • Technical educations are preferable, but other relevant education and experience may be equally considered.

Your Experience

  • At least 5 years relevant tendering experience or experience from sales and marketing work, technical and/or legal is a plus;
  • General experience from systematic document handling and planning;
  • Ability to work systematically and co-operate across a multi-discipline organization, not only within the sales and marketing group (travel from time to time is needed);
  • Preferable knowledge of project sales;
  • General IS competence (office programs);
  • Ability to find solutions suited to Nexans’ abilities and limitations;
  • Fluent in German & English, verbal and written, additional language skills are a plus;
  • High sense of quality and on time performance.
