Introduction

Capco is recruiting consultants and industry practitioners at all levels to join our Open Banking practice.

We are expanding our team to help our customers define and bring their Open Banking and platform vision to life. Evolving technology, regulation and customer expectations are creating the need for new infrastructure, development capabilities, business frameworks and operational models. We believe open banking and the use of API will be central in our clients’ ability to sustain innovation, create new revenue streams, collaborate with Fintechs and create an agile product development environment. In that regard, Capco aims to provide its customers end to end capabilities, from strategy definition to API development.

Working across a range of clients you will have the opportunity to bring your knowledge of API, Open Banking, PSD2 and financial products to bear for those clients of ours who are looking to develop new strategies and improved business models in this new environment. In a customer facing role, you will work collaboratively with clients to ensure that they are well positioned to deliver on their goals and generate sustainable growth. You will be joining a highly motivated team with deep expertise and an exciting set of client engagements.

Your role

  • Playing an instrumental role in our clients’ transition towards Open banking, with a business perspective. This may include:
  • Building domain expertise and actively contributing to establishing the Open Banking practice as a leading one in the Benelux market
  • Sharing knowledge and actively supporting business development:
    • Defining the open banking strategy of a bank or department;
    • Identifying and building external API use and business cases (e.g. APIs that enable third party solutions and/or bear high potential for commercial distribution and/or facilitate the collaboration with Fintechs and/or support the development of new products…);
    • Identifying and building internal API use and business cases;
    • Defining and implementing new operating models;
    • Assisting in the prioritisation process of API development;
    • Working closely with IT to define APIs (e.g. functional requirements gathering, data modelling);
    • Documenting API for internal or external publication;
    • Building and managing developer communities.

Experience and Background Requirements (all level of experience considered)

Proven experience in a similar role and in a client facing position'
You need to be an excellent communicator and feel comfortable interacting with stakeholders at various levels. Organizational and cultural sensitivity is a must.

Essential Skills and knowledge (all level of experience considered)

  • Strong drive, resilience and a passion for excellence
  • University education and degree
  • Knowledge of RESTful API , HTTP, JSON
  • Experience in API documentation (as a writer or consumer)
  • Familiarity with Swagger
    • Knowledge of agile (SCRUM/Agile at scale) methodology;
    • Team player with the ability to deliver projects and to work within project teams;
    • Consultative skills necessary to translate client ideas and ambitions into practical, viable projects;
    • Robust analytical skills and the ability to write and present in a logical and structured way;
    • Curiosity and intellect to build considerable sector knowledge and swiftly be considered an Open Banking expert by clients, colleagues and industry peers;
    • Excellent written and verbal skills in English;
    • Ability to work under pressure;
    • Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment;
    • Flexibility about work location and willingness to travel abroad.

Desirable

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry;
  • Understanding of or expertise in industry and regulatory initiatives in Open Banking, PSD2 and Payments, business/market dynamics in financial services;
  • Familiarity with SOAP and with WSDL, WADL, XML;
  • Web development experience (demand side perspective);
  • Understanding of modern identity standards – OAuth2, OpenID Connect;
  • Knowledge of financial industry API standards (STET, UK Open Banking, Berlin group);
  • Familiarity with API Management platforms of providers such as Apigee, CA, Axway, MuleSoft, Equens Worldline;
  • Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA.
