About the team

As Support Non-Functional Engineer (NFE) based in Diegem you will join a multi-cultural team of 80+ Support Engineers based in different centres around the globe that provide support and maintenance on mission critical solutions in the payments space.

The Open Payment Framework is a J2EE based framework working on WebSphere, WebLogic JBoss, Linux/AIX with MQ or SIBUS as JMS engine and Oracle as DB engine.

What you will be doing

As part of the support team you will be taking care of a vital aspect of the operational lifecycle of OPF product for maintenance, Incident management, customer relationship management and communication and reporting under the following tasks:

  • Reproduction and analysis of customer Non-Functional Issues;
  • Collaborate and work as one team with other stakeholders as Business Analysts, Developers and Technical Architects to come to the Root Cause of Incidents and Problems;
  • Propose workarounds to minimise business impact in case of critical incidents;
  • Suggest Non-Functional Improvements;
  • Proactive and innovative mindset;
  • Communicate and document findings and recommendations to customers;
  • Conduct performance proving and benchmarking;
  • Learn and be on top of new technologies and practices;
  • Play an important role in the Knowledge Management process.

What you bring

  • Customer facing and communication skills;
  • Experience in performance optimisation;
  • Good knowledge in Java and JEE development;
  • Knowledge of HA/DR;
  • Experience on WebSphere/WebLogic/JBoss and Docker;
  • Experience with Oracle;
  • Knowledge of Linux/UNIX/AIX (scripting, tuning, administration);
  • Experience with MQ/SIBUS (Other messaging framework like Kafka, ActiveMQ are a plus);
  • Use of a java profiler(JProfiler), AWR, debugger, NMON, Linux monitoring tools;
  • Willing to travel abroad (mainly EMEA) a few times a year for short missions (few days-1 week);
  • Willing to learn and use FIS standards reporting/tools;
  • High level of autonomy;
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills.

Education Desired

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
