The New Zealand Defence Attaché Office (NZDAO) facilitates the defence relationship between the New Zealand Defence Force and NATO, the EU and the Defence Forces of Belgium and France. The office is headed by the Defence Attaché and supported by the Defence Office Manager.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

You will be responsible for providing the office management function – including administrative, financial, executive assistance, information management and events coordination services – in a busy multinational military and diplomatic environment.

The appointment range for this role is €56,300 to €59,600 (annual gross, all benefits included) – negotiable depending on experience.

  • Previous administrative experience in a large multifaceted organisation;
  • Effective communication skills with English as a working language;
  • Good knowledge of French and Dutch would be a definite advantage;
  • High level of computer literacy and excellent skills in the Microsoft Office suite of applications;
  • Cashbook accounting experience and great time management skills;
  • You are a team player who can also work well independently;
  • Having a valid Five Eyes security clearance would be an advantage.

You must have the right to live and work in Belgium to apply for this role. The successful applicant will be employed under local terms and conditions. The Mission offers a permanent and full time employment contract (or min 0.8 FTE negotiable).
