Tax Group Manager

To further support the growth of iBanFirst, we are looking to add an experienced Tax Manager to our team on group level.

As Tax Group Manager at iBanFirst, you will be responsible for managing the group’s tax strategy, ensuring optimization and compliance with local and international regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

Tax Strategy

  • Define and implement the group’s tax strategy;
  • Identify opportunities for tax optimization while managing associated risks;
  • Monitor tax regulations at both national and international levels.

Compliance and Tax Obligations Management

  • Oversee the preparation and filing of local tax returns (Transfer Pricing forms, VAT, corporate income tax, local taxes, etc.) in collaboration with our Chief Accountant;
  • Ensure compliance with current tax regulations and avoid any tax disputes;
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities.

Audits and Tax Litigation Management

  • Coordinate tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities;
  • Handle tax disputes and collaborate with external advisors when necessary.

Support for Operations and Projects

  • Provide tax support for strategic projects (mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, etc.);
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to secure the tax aspects of transactions.

Management and Reporting

  • Lead and supervise our external tax advisors across Europe;
  • Provide regular reporting to management on tax risks, opportunities, and the outcomes of tax initiatives.

What do you need:

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Taxation, Tax Law, Accounting, or equivalent (Master’s level preferred);
  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in taxation, ideally in both consultancy and corporate settings;
  • Expertise in international taxation and transfer pricing.

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of national and international tax regulations;
  • Proficiency in accounting standards related to taxation (BEGAAP, FRGAAP mainly);
  • Strong skills in financial modeling and analysis.

Professional Attributes

  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage several projects;
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders (internal and external);
  • Proficiency in English and French (written and spoken). Dutch or other languages are a plus.
