The Role

To support our growing data-driven initiatives, we are seeking a Linux System Engineer to join our Data Center Operations team. You will play a critical role in designing, configuring, and maintaining state-of-the-art IT infrastructure tailored to the needs of life sciences research.

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, upgrade and optimise the infrastructure that supports data-intensive research activities;
Maintain and support our High-Performance Compute infrastructure;
Extend our hybrid cloud storage offerings and data delivery;
Ensure the security, compliance, and scalability of the IT infrastructure;
Design custom infrastructure solutions for our scientists;
Automate common tasks with Ansible and Bash, Python, PowerShell scripting;
Identify trends and problems and plan changes to improve stability and optimize performance;
Create and maintain documentation, knowledge articles and processes.

Requirements

A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience;
Experience with Linux-based server or storage platforms;
Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible);
A critical analytical mindset and problem-solving attitude;
A proactive and collaborative way of working, with excellent communication skills.
