The Senior Financial Analyst/Finance Manager is responsible for conducting the appropriate data collection, analysis, monitoring, data interpretation and reporting thereof to support regular/ad-hoc business review discussions and strategic decision-making.
He/she functions as an internal sparring partner towards the relevant operational units and is the go to person for questions and advice on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Accountabilities
- Primary focus is business control of the sales & marketing related activities and supporting S&M with business analysis;
- Supports the S&M and finance teams in ad hoc projects (mainly valuation, specific investment analysis projects, business case analysis);
- Supports the finance and the S&M teams in preparations of budgets, and the challenging thereof;
- Supports S&M in analyzing volume and pricing trends, customer segments, product performance, regional performance and business KPIs;
- Is responsible for the preparation, in collaboration with the Controlling Manager, of (monthly) management accounts & reporting for sales & marketing related activities;
- Executes required KPI monitoring (including market/benchmark analysis) for sales & marketing in collaboration with the sales & marketing team;
- Works closely together with the sales & marketing team to improve data collection, interpretation and analysis thereof;
- Prepares and challenges financial and operational long-term sales projections and monthly forecasts;
- Drives performance improvement projects, and is proactively suggesting new projects to be worked on;
- Liaises closely with the organization to obtain required data points and other inputs needed for analysis/reporting and/or the further extension thereof;
- Defines and implements procedures to support and improve internal processes related to sales & marketing business control;
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Profile requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business/economics/accountancy) or equivalent through experience and/or training;
- You have more than 5 years of professional experience, preferably in an international sales environment;
- Min. 3 years of experience in business controlling is required;
- Practical experience in sales & marketing driven environment (preferred);
- Practical experience in data collection from ERP systems to prepare reporting statements (e.g. via sales cubes);
- Investment analysis and valuation methodologies (e.g. NPV, DCF);
- Benchmarking methodologies;
- Basic understanding of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements;
- Basic knowledge on internal control processes (preferred);
- Understanding of medical diagnostics industry is an asset;
- MS Office: Outlook, Excel (advanced), Word, PowerPoint;
- Excellent IT skills (including advanced excel);
- Basic knowledge on ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus) and familiar with BI reporting tools (preferred);
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speech), Dutch is an asset.
