Purpose of the position
You are responsible for the development of the continental network offer of SN incl. flight plan scenarios for the full flight plan horizon considering external and internal influences and conditions. The focus lies on economically optimal schedules increasing SN profitability in consideration of a LHG commercial optimum. Furthermore you will ensure an efficient and effective scheduling and slot management for SN in close collaboration with SN internal and group-wide stakeholders and considering operational and commercial framework conditions.
Your tasks
- Develop continental network offer of LHG for the perspective of OS, flight plan scenarios for the full flight plan horizon considering external and internal influences and conditions.
- Shape LHG’s continental network strategy with focus on SN.
- Create an economically optimal schedule, increasing LHG and SN profitability; LHG Group commercial optimum, LHG profitability.
- Maximizing the network profitability, delivery of optimal network quality, reach and transfer quality for customers considering infrastructural conditions (traffic rights, slots, curfews, airport infrastructure, operational ability, block hours, ground times, connecting times…). Collaboration with partners. Follow SN network strategy under consideration of LHG network strategy.
- Assessment of network scenarios (continental route and network valuation) considering passengers, costs, results, competition etc. Consideration and optimization will also be based on LHG optimal network design.
- Ensure revenue optimal capacity allocation through use of opportunities of aircraft changes, flexible versioning and curtain position, as well as demand driven overbooking levels.
- Structure, optimize and implement structural flight plans, IATA drafts, preliminary drafts and the main expenses (optimal allocation of aircraft). Generation of special flight plans (vacation period, holidays, events) with focus on seasonal steering/optimization.
- Ensure (short-term) program adjustments in reaction to demand fluctuation, market changes (seasonality, single flight editing, additional flights, charter flights, inclusion of special events, slot adjustments etc.) and irregularities for continental flights from hub BRU.
- Ensure efficient and effective scheduling and slot management for SN with focus on optimizing the use of capacity and increasing productivity of the network and resource consumption (e.g. aircraft, crew,…).
- Publication, management and optimization of flight plans for scheduled and charter services.
- Secure alignment of planning parameters across all operational departments with focus on operational feasibility while ensuring efficient connections (e.g. block and ground timings).
- Ensure representation of Network Management & Revenue Steering SN within SN Operations Committee.
- Leadership, motivation and development of colleagues, appropriate design of organization and processes in delegation range, incl. special focus on development of people and know-how strategy to transfer current skill base into future fit of data-driven offer management (data science approach) as continuous change process
Your profile
- Higher university degree (business administration, economics or similar) e.g. MBA or equivalent.
- Profound work experience within network planning and scheduling management of multiple years, general experience in revenue management advantageous.
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills.
- Quick comprehension and recognition of economic interdependencies.
- Independent, goal-oriented and structured way of working.
- High level of decisiveness.
- Very good communication and diplomatic skills.
- Very good written and spoken English, German and French are an added value.
