Your role
As the Business Process Owner (BPO) for Commercial at group level, you will be responsible for shaping the strategy and designing processes that enhance efficiency, ensure compliance, and drive cost savings throughout the commercial lifecycle. You will play a key role in developing and executing the Digital Strategy and transformation roadmap for the commercial area, aligning these efforts with Vandemoortele’s broader business goals and objectives.
In this role, you will manage and optimize core business processes across various business lines and markets. This will involve developing business cases, tracking performance, managing change initiatives, and overseeing execution and support.
Close collaboration with Digital Product Owners and IT is key to establishing, delivering and optimising high performing business processes supported by appropriate data driven and digital solutions.
In this role, you will report to the Chief Digital Officer.
Your key responsibilities
- Process Optimisation and Ownership:
- You take ownership of the processes and ensure alignment with organisational goals. You continuously review and enhance workflows for efficiency and effectiveness. You stay updated on industry best practices and make recommendations for process improvements. You drive standardisation, innovation, and compliance for end to end (E2E) process across the network.
- Strategy Development:
- You develop and implement strategies and the digital transformation roadmap to improve effectiveness and efficiency, aligned with organisational goals and objectives in close collaboration with the Digital Product Owners.
- Stakeholder Management:
- You collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of processes and objectives and to integrate commercial processes with other business functions. You establish digital collaboration with suppliers to enable stronger, more collaborative relationships, resulting in improved efficiency, reduced costs, and enhanced agility.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- You support policy- and guideline development for key commercial processes. You ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies whilst considering security and minimising risk exposure within the commercial process.
- Performance Monitoring:
- You develop KPI’s and metrics to monitor the performance of the commercial process. You analyse data and provide dashboards to assess the effectiveness of the processes and provide insights to drive continuous improvement. You lead initiatives for transparency and efficiency improvement through effective data management, by providing meaningful and actionable insights/dashboards.
- Change Management:
- You drive change initiatives related to commercial processes, systems, and technologies. By providing training and support, you ensure a successful adoption of new processes and tools.
- Technology Enablement:
- You evaluate, select, and implement technology solutions to support and streamline commercial processes together with the Digital Product Owner. You translate business needs into system requirements which you share and align with the Digital Product Owner.
- Project Management:
- You manage all projects related to the role from start to end, starting with the idea, kick-off, project charter, stakeholder engagement through all the phases to the end including collaboration with the Digital Product Owner and IT for implementation, change management and adoption/ KPI reporting.
Are you the one we’re looking for?
- You have a master’s degree and a minimum of 5-8 years experience in the area of Business Administration, Information management or a related business discipline;
- You possess strong leadership and team management skills, enabling you to inspire and guide a team of Digital Product Owners effectively;
- Thanks to your excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, you can navigate complex data and make well-informed, data-driven decisions;
- Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills allow you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. You excel at motivating, driving, and engaging different stakeholders to secure their buy-in;
- You are a multitasker with a flexible mindset and a hands-on approach, remaining calm in stressful situations;
- As a team player, you enjoy sharing knowledge and information to foster collaboration;
- You have strong business acumen, allowing you to align digital initiatives with the organization’s strategic goals;
- You have experience in setting and achieving objectives, prioritizing in complex environments, management reporting, cross-departmental collaboration, and driving process improvement;
- You are customer-oriented, experienced in engaging with external stakeholders at senior management and directorate levels. Your persuasive communication, diplomacy, and negotiation skills make you a strong advocate in external partnerships;
- You apply technology creatively to solve concrete problems, both strategically and tactically;
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset, attention to detail and can think both short- and long-term. You like to think outside the box to find innovative solutions.
