Your role & work environment

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Credit Risk Reporting Analyst to join our team, focusing especially on our business portfolios (Business Banking & Wholesale Banking). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analysing, interpreting, and reporting on the credit risks of our business portfolio. This role requires exceptional data analysis capabilities, a good understanding of credit risk management, and a strong ability to execute strategic priorities, particularly in relation to the development of integrated datamarts and streamlining of our reporting framework.

As part of the CFO domain of ING Belgium, the CoE Reporting, which is an internationally composed team, has as main objective to deliver solutions to answer the continuously data and reporting needs from our different stakeholders within or outside the bank (e.g. National Bank of Belgium, European Central Bank). The CoE covers, next to the Financial/Regulatory and ESG Reporting, the Credit Risk Reporting commitments. As member of the Credit Risk information reporting team, you will work in close collaboration with your lead, your dedicated squad and colleagues of the CoE Reporting as well as other credit risk representatives of the bank.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Credit Risk Reporting: Develop, produce, and enhance regular and ad-hoc credit risk reports to provide clear insights into the risk profile of the bank's business portfolios, with a particular emphasis towards the professional real estate portfolio;
  • Data Analytics: Conduct in-depth analysis of large and complex datasets to identify trends and risks within the business portfolios. Leverage strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and provide actionable reporting insights that support the risk decision-making processes, collaborating closely with our portfolio managers and other credit risk departments;
  • Strategic Execution: Drive the execution of the department’s strategic goals by developing integrated datamarts that enhance data accessibility and reporting efficiency. Lead initiatives focused on the rationalization, streamlining, and automation of the current credit risk reporting framework, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with our department’s goals;
  • Stakeholder Management: Interact with various stakeholders, both locally as well as on head office level, including the credit risk functions, commercial functions, data management, and (senior) management, to realize data-driven findings and provide well-supported insights.

As an Senior Credit Risk Reporting Analyst, you will also need the following qualifications and competences:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Management or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM) is desirable, although not required;
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in credit risk reporting or a related field, preferably within a financial institution with a focus on business lending;
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in data analysis tools such as SQL and SAS. Experience in utilizing BI tools (e.g. Power BI) to enhance data visualization is deemed as a plus;
  • Knowledge: Good understanding of credit risk principles, including regulatory frameworks such as Basel IV and IFRS 9. Specific experience in the reporting of business lending exposures, particularly in relation to professional real estate, is desirable;
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data sets and transform them into actionable insights;
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and analysis clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders;
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in work outputs, particularly in data analysis and reporting;
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being a self-starter who can work independently.
