Job Summary
The Marketing Manager EMEA plans, directs and controls all marketing activities for HCS product portfolio, including the setting of marketing strategy and objectives, collaboration with countries and TC marketing team, market research, sales promotion, advertising, medical affairs, market access, and marketing budget management.
Job Responsibilities
Developing strategic marketing plans
- Plays a key role in developing company marketing strategy, linking the HCS portfolio and strategy;
- Gathers, analyses and reports relevant market, customer and product data related of the Terumo position in the EMEA scope of Injection, access & AIS related products;
- Maintains Competitor Intelligence in collaboration with sales team: competition strategy, products and pricing and provides relevant communications on competitor activities;
- Prepares a yearly EMEA product and marketing strategy for their specific portfolio plan, incorporating the commercial strategy to the internal and external stakeholders, in order to actively support the marketing and sales organisation and achieve company targets;
- Develop the commercial strength of our solutions by combining the value of our service & product offerings;
- Scope can include upstream and downstream projects.
Managing Promotional activities and Product Portfolio
- Develops all the necessary promotional tools/activities in order to support the sales activities of EMEA. Contributes to the Terumo digital transformation;
- Collaborates with IP team on forecast, and inventory control;
- Contributes actively to Terumo brand image through communicating actively and effectively with third parties. Maintain excellent relations with external suppliers;
- Continuously benchmark against competitor products/services and campaigns. Responding with aility to the dynamic marketplace while maintaining a clear strategic course for the portfolio in collaboration with line manager.
Implementing Marketing plans
- Ensures that the Marketing strategy is cascaded down to the sales team through regular communication, and field visits in country;
- Tracks sales performance, understanding the gaps/pressure points in countries. Support countries with strategies to overcome barriers.
Align and support training activities
- Aligns product focus with training team to ensure sales force trainings are contributing to portfolio strategy objectives;
- Supports training with strategy, product and market knowledge to inspire the trainees and to improve their necessary skills to maximize sales;
- Supports distributors commercial teams as product specialist for product portfolio.
Creation and Marketing of New products
- Closely follows up the market and product evolutions (e.g.customer’s demand, competitors portfolio, etc.);
- Looks for new products that fits MP portfolio and support the business expansion;
- Manages the implementation of new products in TE system, considering requirements of all related departments (e.g. RA, QA, Legal, Finance, IP, etc…);
- Develops launch plan for new products in the EMEA scope, incorporating the tactics that will result in the optimisation of market share in the short and long term;
- Field evaluation of new products and management of Post Market Surveillance as required for product portfolio (as cross functional team with Regulatory Affairs and Medical Affairs).
People management
- Set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project team members and hold them accountable for achieving these, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives;
- To develop and coach the team members to ensure their competences, skills and know-how are used and developed to the best advantage and to work as a well-functioning team;
- Provide training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfil personal potential.
Profile Description
- University degree or comparable education in marketing, or proven relevant experience;
- Practical experience in all marketing strategy, concepts and techniques including product launches at EMEA level;
- Deep knowledge of the European Medical Devices, Diagnostics or Pharmaceutical industry market;
- Former Sales experience preferred;
- Good digital multichannel experience;
- Good project management skills and a track record in delivering projects within budget and timeline;
- Proven problem-solving skills;
- Excellent presentation skills and strong ability to communicate effectively when building plan – be able to articulate complex viewpoints and arguments with clarity and purpose, and have the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation;
- Able to work in pan European matrix organization, in a dynamic environment;
- Team player and willing to work collaboratively across the organization and with others to reach results/resolution;
- Excellent ability to function in a self-directed manner with a high degree of autonomy;
- Strong capability to engage others and to establish strong collaborative relationships and network with Country Sales and Marketing Teams;
- Very good working knowledge of English (written, read and spoken). Other languages can be an advantage.
