The Business Process Lead for Administration Units enforces a standardized process model across Administration Units for the organization. The function ensures process compliance to accounting and reporting standards and drives continuous improvement of the process areas Purchase-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and Record-to-Report. Further, the function is required to:

  • represent process knowledge at project related work (e.g. system implementation, design initiatives)
  • act as a counterpart to process expert network at outsourcing provider side; to validate and assess potential process improvements, i.e. industry best practice tools/enablers and oversees process- and operational performance (frequent KPI tracking and reporting)
  • support operational retained processes (processes which are not outsourced to an outsourcing provider) with expertise and accounting insights if needed

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Drive the standardization of administration units’ activities across the organization
  • Assume responsibility for process design and development, be responsible for adherence to agreed process for administration units
  • Design and implement agreed Legal Structure for administration units
  • Design and implement agreed Finance business process changes for administration units
  • Provide a process governance to the outsourcing provider
  • Establish and maintain globally harmonized Accounting and Reporting processes (including activity split)
  • Assume process responsibility from requirement to development including collaboration with Service Delivery Manager regarding migration planning and training
  • Define Key Performance Indicators for each process (Purchase-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and Record-to-Report) with focus on quality, efficiency, effectiveness and compliance; set performance targets for Accounting operations
  • Complete process-related administrative tasks in accordance with standards and procedures defined by BPG lead (e.g. approval of documentation, demand approval workflow, project methodologies, escalation path) and monitor and challenge performance monitoring in terms of cost and FTE budgets as well as other metrics (e.g. achievement of milestones) for each project
  • Cross function alignment (e.g. Procurement, Area organization) to take leadership in conceptual topics and to ensure the holistic assessment of process options/ideas
  • Own responsibility for strategic accounting process projects
  • Drive the standardization of the billing model to admin units

Requirements:

  • Professional Accounting Qualification and/or relevant experience
  • At least 10 years of professional experience
  • Strong Accounting and Controlling knowledge
  • Familiar with legal organizational structures
  • Project management skills; strong capability to develop & finalize projects in time & budget
  • Familiar with concepts like service levels, KPI’s, measuring and steering performance of external vendors (outsourcing partner)
  • Strong facilitation, consultation and convening skills
  • Fluent in English
