As Group Indirect Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing indirect tax analysis and support to the business while ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations in all countries in which SWIFT has a filing requirement.

In this role, you will perform all functions related to reviewing and establishing consistent indirect tax best practices with continued focus on on-going control measures and automation.

This function is reporting to the Global Head of Tax.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of indirect tax registrations and processes in existing and new countries of operations;
  • Monitor changes to indirect tax rules and legislation on a continuous basis, analyze impact and ensure implementation of changes in systems, billing, reporting and filing obligations;
  • Provide proactive and pragmatic indirect tax advice and support to the business: indirect tax input on new initiatives, new products and strategic plans;
  • Provide input into transfer pricing policy and processes to ensure indirect tax impacts are identified and managed;
  • Support indirect tax audits and managing the relationship with local tax authorities;
  • Perform indirect tax risks and process reviews and make recommendations thereon;
  • Ensure a robust control framework for indirect tax;
  • Drive VAT alignment improvement initiatives through providing guidelines and assistance in all types of local and cross border transactions to secure VAT and indirect tax Compliance;
  • Automate existing processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness through use of tax technology;
  • SPOC for various Indirect tax stakeholder groups in SWIFT (Finance, Sales, Marketing, IT, etc.);
  • Working with overseas advisors as part of our global footprint;
  • Provide training on the matter to other parts of the business and accounts department (such as accounts receivable and accounts payable);
  • Build strong relationships within the business and be an ambassador for the tax department.

Qualifications

Education

  • University Degree in Law or Economics with specialization in tax.

Experience

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in indirect tax within a Big4 and/or in-House;
  • You have excellent organization skills and attention to details;
  • You like to work in a fast-paced challenging environment;
  • You have knowledge and proficiency in ERP, computer software applications and new tax technology;
  • You are able to think strategically while being hands-on, with a solid business acumen;
  • Languages: English is a must. Dutch or French. French is a plus.
