Cigna’s Global Individual Private Medical Insurance (Global IPMI) business is a leader in providing international health insurance to expatriates and other globally mobile individuals. The European Business Development Consultant (German Speaking) will proactively develop and grow the CIGNA Global IPMI business via brokers in the European market place. The Business Development Consultant will become a key member of the Global IPMI Broker Sales & Business Development team and will identify and implement defined business development strategy to grow the individual international portfolio in their focus market, achieving year on year growth in market share as the business develops.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identify and support new brokers to promote Global IPMI solutions and opportunities for Inbound/Outbound expats and High net worth segment in your defined business scope;
  • Identify intermediary events to engage potential distributors and present the CIGNA International Individual product;
  • Assess prospective customers, existing expatriate insurance arrangements to identify and develop new business opportunities;
  • Advise distributors and their sales force on all aspects of the individual expatriate medical insurance requirements for their region;
  • Keep abreast of all developments in the market both customer and competitor related, contributing to new product development/business initiatives accordingly;
  • Working very closely with the Glasgow based Broker sales and support team to build strong key relationships.
  • Liaise with internal departments, e.g. telesales, operations, underwriting, marketing, in line with established procedures to ensure optimum service to customers.

Scope:

  • Reports directly to Head of Business Development – Europe & Africa
  • Consults with consulting houses and sales teams, as well as brokers, IFA’s, IPMI intermediary specialists and alternative Third Party distribution. Monitors, develops, grows and manages broker distribution to ensure sales accuracy in respect of Global IPMI service and brand value propositions. Delivering on and surpassing agreed sales targets.

Requirements:

  • Graduate level and operated at a senior level in a financial services environment
  • Minimum 5 years indirect/B2B sales/business development experience, gained preferably in either the medical or international business arena
  • Understanding of Intermediary Markets and B2B distribution
  • Ability to work independently
  • Able to set and achieve strategic as well as specific new business targets
  • Must speak fluent German
