Currently we are looking for a new colleague to join our finance team with a strong varied accounting background. The ideal candidate also shows great interest in project-based work and working across functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Statutory accounting & Book keeping:
Manage the monthly closing of the Bank end to end;
Responsibility for the annual statutory accounts drafting;
Back-up for the daily book keeping activities: day to day accounting: invoicing, billing, sub- ledger accounting, Nostros etc.;
Share knowledge and train as necessary other accounting team members or new joiners on the day to day accounting matters;
Ensure accurate and timely filing of all financial statutory, group management accounting (Stravis, BPC) and certain regulatory reporting;
Primary Contact point for the internal/external audit for Accounting matters;
Ensure all relevant documentation for audit purposes is maintained by the various stakeholders;
Engage relevant internal stakeholders for non-accounting matters.
Finance controlling activities:
Responsible for the financial control of the high volume (Oktoberfest project, Factoring projects and others to come etc.). Ensure exhaustiveness, integrity and accuracy of all the transactions across the various systems. Identify issues, perform reconciliations, and propose perennial solutions. Engage relevant resources in Finance, IT or BA;
Support in the periodical Forecasting and Planning activities;
Responsible for the Chart of Account maintenance across financial systems (T24, Sage, SAP B1) and other necessary attributes. Engage other Finance team members notably for expertise on regulatory reporting matters.
Projects & other activities:
Propose Improvement in finance processes and procedures and related documentation;
Project-based work can be treasury management, Finance continuous improvement initiatives, business case modelling, Product-related project etc. Finance and Accounting related- projects will gradually account for a bigger part of the role.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE
Relevant university degree in the field of finance or accounting and 4+ years of experience in a similar role;
Hands-on experience in bookkeeping, invoicing/billing, payments;
Experience and interest in project management is an advantage;
Experience of regular reporting to HQ on Finance accounting and management accounting within internet e-commerce, banking or Fintech industries is an advantage.
Relevant certification desired (CIMA, CFA, etc.);
Excellent IT literacy skills including Excel and Word. Preferably has experience of Sage, Temenos T24 or similar financial accounting/banking systems;
Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships across European businesses, international company and with internal and external partners;
Rigorous, organized and disciplined;
Ability to say “no”;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English. French language skills are an advantage.
