Role

The key focus of the candidate will be the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process, namely:

  • Further develop the ILAAP architecture, integrating the ILAAP within the overall management framework, as well as linking ILAAP related outcomes with the Group´s risk appetite framework and its overall business strategy;
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a robust understanding and quantification of the liquidity risk profile of Euroclear, including but not limited to identification of inherent risks and residual risk. Going forward, the understanding of the idiosyncratic nature of Euroclear´s business will be critical;
  • Periodically assess liquidity and funding adequacy based on different inputs from Treasury and Corporate Finance (including but not limited to the funding plan, cash flow analysis, investment strategy, backtesting results, forecast P&L, etc.);
  • Understand and assess liquidity risk requirements as well as how CSDR interacts with banking liquidity and ALM concepts (knowledge of CSDR, CRR/CRD IV and CPMI-IOSCO Principles for FMIs);
  • Understand the link between the ILAAP and the ICAAP, and ensure consistency between both processes;
  • Use of scenario analysis/stress tests to assess the adequate liquidity and funding position of Euroclear in adverse circumstances;
  • Yearly, update the liquidity and funding risk management framework in the Reader's Manual of the ILAAP file;
  • Yearly, draft the ILAAP conclusion file, summarizing the result of the yearly ILAAP process.

Qualifications

Technical skills

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Risk Management, Banking and/or Treasury activities, ideally around ALM, liquidity risk management and ILAAP;
  • Good understanding of banking/treasury activities and products;
  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, economics, business, science) or equivalent through experience;
  • Fluent in English: very good written skills; knowledge of French or Dutch is not required but would be an asset.

Soft skills

  • Analytical/quantitative skills;
  • Team spirit;
  • Ability to handle assignments with a high degree of autonomy, involving/implicating people at senior levels in both Risk Management division and other Divisions;
  • Excellent communication skills to discuss/challenge/defend complex material with senior people both inside (e.g. Management Committee, CALCO) and outside Euroclear (e.g. BNB).
